Since 1989, The Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy, in association with The National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA), founded an annual ‘Young Talent’ series of concerts, which have proved very successful in providing a concert platform for talented young artistes from all over India. Over the years, through the Young Talent Concert Series, many talented artistes (between the ages of 15 years and 30 years) have successfully made their debut before a discerning and appreciative audience.
Many of these youngsters have gone on to pursue careers in conservatories and institutions abroad and to make a name for themselves in the field of Western Music. Some of these include Ms. Dierdre Lobo, Dr. Fareed Curmally, Ms. Dilshad Billimoria, Mr. Farhad Billimoria, Mr. Anando Mukherji, Ms. Sheherazade Panthaki, Ms. Nina Menezes and a host of others.
The Young Talent Concert Series is presented annually by The Stop-Gaps Cultural Academy in association with the NCPA. This concert series aims at promoting and encouraging Western Classical Music among young people, while providing talented young artistes a concert platform on which to perform and present their talents to a fairly wide audience.
